ZDF planet e: the new forest dieback

in production / ZDF

The fear of dying forests drove tens of thousands of people onto the streets in the 1980s in Germany. Thanks to new filter systems and catalytic converters, the acid rain subsided and the German forest seemed to be saved. But today our forests, our fruit trees, the trees in our cities and our gardens are
are once again in danger – and this time they cannot be saved so easily, because this time they are dying as a result of climate change. The trees, of all things- they should be our strongest weapon in the fight for a better environment. They clean our air and provide a habitat for animals and plants. What can we do to save them?
