Tohebas Geheimnis –
Afghanistans verratene Töchter

Afghan women are under immense pressure to give birth to a boy. For without a boy, a family is not only ostracized socially, but mainly has to fear economical disadvantages. Only boys are allowed to help out in a business, can be sent to go shopping in the Bazaar, accompany their sisters, who are not allowed to make any move alone outside the home. There is an old tradition that families without sons disguise one or two daughters as boys. They are called Bacha posh.
