The legendary desert people ruled over the heart of the Sahara for more than a century. Ancient writers speak of a mighty capital city, of huge fortresses, and of exotic animals for the arenas of the Roman Empire.
The “Schliemann’s Heirs” team accompanies scientists in Libya working in the desert, where they find traces of the sunken kingdom everywhere. They try to find answers to the question of where the desert people disappeared to and whether the descendants of the Garamants are still alive today.
