die story: Eklat im Elfenbeinturm

In 2000, scientists in Göttingen announce a sensational breakthrough in cancer research. More than 400 patients are subsequently treated with a new therapy. A short time later the therapy turns out to be useless because of negligent mistakes that were made throughout the studies.
But apart from “sacrificing a pawn” no other consequences are taken. The film examines an academic system that is vulnerable to such scandals.
