A portrait of star coach Jürgen Klopp is screened on ZDF Sunday on Sunday, 19 May 2019 at 5.10 p.m
“He’s the best manager in England, the best manager in Europe”, enthuses a fan of FC Liverpool about its coach, Jürgen Klopp. On Sunday, 19 May 2019 at 5.10 p.m., the ZDF SPORTreportage shows a 30-minute portrait of the successful football coach. Even four years after his departure from the German Bundesliga, no German football coach in Germany can match the popularity of the man who changed everything in England’s football city with the traditional club FC Liverpool.
Director and author Klaus Fiedler accompanies Jürgen Klopp, whose popularity and acceptance far beyond football did not suffer from the move to England. Klopp’s personality fits Liverpool FC, perhaps the most emotional football club in the Premier League, remarkably well: “The way he wants to play football, the way he inspires a team, makes a perfect match for Liverpool” says Sebastian Kehl, former player of Borussia Dortmund. Where does his recipe for success come from? Klopp himself says: “I only expect myself to give everything, that doesn’t mean that you get everything. It’s just the only chance of getting anything at all.”
The story of an extraordinary, successful football career. And an approach to the currently most popular personality in German football: Jürgen Klopp.
