Wie geht das? Organisation ist alles – das UKE (AT)

in Produktion /NDR

The university medical centre in Hamburg-Eppendorf was founded in 1884 and is the largest hospital in the Hanseatic city. 1736 beds in 80 different clinics, institutions and polyclinics need to be taken care of 24 hours a day. 300 cases in the emergency room make matters worse.  Everyday 10.400 employees face this organizational challenge. They work in shifts. ”Wie geht das UKE?“  shows how this modern „health-company“ works. By using underground tunnels, autonomous transport robots supply the different hospital wards with linen, syringes and dressing material so that no human has to take of that. Furthermore “Wie geht das UKE?” introduces some specialist departments as for example the new Children’s Hospital, the Neuroradiology and the operation robot Da Vinci. They are some of the reasons why the hospital in Hamburg Eppendorf is such an exceptional clinic with such a high reputation.
