Life could be wonderful for Benno, who works as a bus driver, just like his buddy Axel. He loves his job, his familiy, and the sometimes a little eccentric inhabitants of his small town, who he chauffeurs through the Harz day in and day out. But then, out of a sudden, rich car salesman Brausewetter, the owner of the vastly unprofitable bus company, cancels all bus routes from one day to the next – a harsh blow to whole town. And Benno is in for yet another surprise, albeit a pleasant one: an old aunt of his leaves him an inheritance of one million Euros. Benno quickly makes up his mind: he doesn't intend to spend all that money just for himself. He decides to buy the bus company and keep running it with his buddy Axel. The whole town celebrates him as their benefactor. But Brausewetter also hears of the inheritance, and what nobody suspects: he cannot keep up the payments for his due credits – if he could just get a hold of Benno's million, that would indeed be his rescue...
