Local Berlin politician Hans-Werner Glehdorn is a delegate in the Berlin Senate and a passionate city-dweller. When his late wife leaves him and his three kids a houseboat on the Mueritz, he suddenly faces the great outdoors. The children really appreciate meeting Isabell, who knows her way around houseboats, and who is soon hired as a housekeeper. Strange though, she can't even boil an egg, and appears to be rather mysterious in general. She ran away from her own wedding, trying to sort out her life on the Mueritz, while her family and the yellow press are looking for her. The Glehdorns have no idea about all of this, until suddenly a delicate picture of Hans-Werner appears in all the newspapers.
