Five years ago, the little Steffi disappeared without a trace, now her body is found in her home town on the edge of the resin. Prime suspect for the investigating police officers is, then as now, Steffi's mother Eva, who has built up after the disappearance of their daughter a new life in Berlin. Eva's back in a village where have all conspired against her and sets out on his own in search of her daughter.
