Die andere Frau

Ivonne visited her an unknown woman, Vera, in prison. She has received a letter from this Vera. Ivonne's husband was unfaithful, she writes, and that she could tell her the truth, the whole truth.

As Ivonne take on Vera, it will change no idea how this truth, she and her whole life. It is not a banal adultery, it's about the decades betrayal. By her husband as a so-called Stasi-Romeo served his country, he has his wife, his family in the GDR as well as defrauded his victim Vera, as a major collaborator in the Foreign Office in Bonn, his information was.

The film tells how the methodology of the Stasi-life Romeos and the relations of the three main characters has determined. Fateful they are shaped by that system of fraud: the spy out of love, the wife and Romeo himself the emotional entanglements and each very different efforts to face the revelation of a decade-long double life, form the center.

No political thriller, but an emotionally gripping story is told. The drama that takes place between the three protagonists, is a play about love, betrayal and lies.
