Doris Buening, born in 1968, studied film and TV, German literature and culture, as well as art history in Bochum. From 1999 to 2000, she worked as a freelance screenplay proof-reader for ZDF's editorial department Fernsehspiel, RTL's TV-movie editorial department, and other film and TV production companies. Afterwards, she joined Grundy UFA as a storyliner for the daily soap Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. By the end of 2001, she joined Cinecentrum, where she is charged with a producer's duties for fictional productions. From 2002 to 2003, she worked as a counsellor at Hamburger Autorenschule.
For Cinecentrum, her work as a team member included among others: the docu-drama Die Stunde der Offiziere by Hans-Christoph Blumenberg, directed by Hans-Erich Viet for ZDF; SAT.1 comedy Schlafsack fuer Zwei by Wiebke Jaspersen, directed by Zoltan Spirandelli; the comedy Die Liebe kommt selten allein by Norbert Eberlein, directed by Jan Ruzicka for Degeto; the drama Vaterherz by Ulrich del Mestre, directed by Gabi Kubach for MDR; the comedy Ein Hausboot zum Verlieben by Martin Rauhaus, directed by Jorgo Papavassilou for Degeto; social comedy Der Typ, 13 Kinder & ich by Verena Mahlow, directed by Josh Broecker for SAT.1, and the comedy Chefsalat (wt) by Verena Mahlow for ZDF.
